Interlude - Deep, deep thoughts

Tonbei pushed gently at the door and made his way across the wooden floor of the room.  In the corner sat the imposing yet relaxed figure of the Marquis De Havilland, who was rested at the rustic table, staring out through a large hatched window into the city below.  Artificial light poured in, and the glow of it gave the false feeling of warmth.  The Marquis never flinched at Tonbei's sudden arrival, and with one hand tucked comfortably under his arm, he had the other to his face, stroking his moustache, deep, deep in thought.

Tonbei slipped into a space opposite the Knight.  The Marquis moved just his eyes to look into the face of his comrade, both reading into the eyes of the other.  Tonbei broke the silence, "The Justinian boy has arrived Lord, what is your decision?"

The Marquis turned his eyes back to the city around, never moving a muscle as though every fabric of his body had been sacrificed instead to the workings of his mind.

"I think..... I think.......I think this will be a very interesting day..." he responded.  The two figures sat in silence.  Deep, deep in thought.
